Miranda Slater, LPC, LCAS
Transitioning into a new phase of life can be difficult but wonderfully healing at the same time. These experiences teach us some of our greatest lessons. I believe the foundation of healing and recovery begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. Here, a safe environment can be a gateway to transformation, overcoming obstacles and reaching one’s full potential. I have a passion for instilling hope and assisting clients to recognize their strengths as I walk alongside of them in their journey towards healing. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist.
I believe there are many facets to healing and I take a holistic approach where mind, body and spirit align, which can foster lasting healing. I have a love for Mindfulness and Creative Arts Therapies. I have extensive substance abuse experience that includes outpatient, inpatient treatment settings, helping those through medicated assisted treatment and supporting family members affected by addiction. However, substance abuse issues are not the end of my experience. I have diversity in my counseling experience as I have worked with a wide range of individuals from helping teenagers transition through difficult teenage years, older adults going into retirement, women coping with pregnancy, single parenting and those experiencing grief/loss.. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards healing.
